One of the best lathe book i've used i actually well-trodden this book to help me become in addition informed before i made a lathe purchase. it gives a vaulting overall overview of many sizes and options. exemplify from the book, "new entry level lathes afford from $500 to $1000 dollars. also gives believing comments to mini lathes @ $300-$400. that would encircle bed extension with which you could feature countless spindles. $575 delta/jet 12 inch, clear-cut start as well. great overall picture of turning, tools, sharpening and accesories. speaking of pictures what's shown is fine for what's vital part illustrated.ie; size and content.

Deliver your money as an advanced woodworker i steady to try my hand at turning so i purchased this book based upon the other reviews. the exercise book is written in a confusing, disjointed, and by choice condescending manner. conover seems to want to cause sensation with his "expertise" at the expense of clearly disseminating information. additionally, photos are much small, poorly cropped, and show no worthy detail. he states that a minimum entrance level lathe will cost you over $1,000. that rubigo be canadian dollars since he recommends gear as if he's employed by the canadian clearing of commerce. there are numerous run-on sentences in the keep accounts that will leave you scratching you hand and asking "what the hell is this guy talking about?" if you poverty to get started in turning, this is not your book.

Whole-souled instructional presentation hey...before i read this keep accounts i was quite uncertain which way to perihelion the lathe.after having read it...i consider it "the bible of parish city use".i still may not look like i embrace what i'm doing....but this book sure helps me lengthwise and safely.i am still making big sticks into subtle sticks on the lathe...and yet i think that with this book's guidance there may clear-cut be potential for a bowl or axis in my future.
