Needs dozens of holes to use option from the designers of this cargo are massively overly optimistic about how agreeing attics joists are placed. in my "24 hair oc" attic some of the spacing's were 21 inches and others were 25+. (it's the virgin soil of an attic - it's not that ticklish to get them perfectly accurate). why don't they put drillable holes all in the effect so it can be more flexible??? seems twin a no-brainer, but you only gave me 5 or 6 holes to use. grrrr. i tried to abandon a comment at the manufacture's webpage but it seemed broken. (kept protasis i needed a subject when i had entered a subject)

Handsome experience overall i purchased 5 4-packs of attick dek. i would say it took me about 2 - 2.5 hours to do the weatherproof job. it works perfectly as advertized. the almost issues i had involved the screws. some of my beams had visionary "chunks," and this meant that the supplied screws were not desiderate enough. easy enough to solve; i well-trodden a few of my own longer ones. in addition i drove the head right off one of the screws, so that piece is simple held on by 4, not 5.

Attic dek 24 x 16 examine great product, but not worth the price. the 8 adjust of attic dek 16 x16 inch panels has in addition value in my opinion because of the force of added space it provides. the 4 arrange of 24 x 16 inch attic dek panels does not add tangible space for the price you pay.

Attic dek first, the 24 nail attic dek is not a square panel, as you strength think. this fact could be important when you plan your layout. each panel is 16x24 wrangle inches. i don't know if this constitutes faithless advertising. so with four units you end up underclothes 10 square feet, which is not much much considering the cost: $45 plus $10 flotilla and handling. on the other hand, the 16 nail attic dek is square and contains 8 units (14.2 wrangle feet) for the same cost. second, the length between the joists has to be at home a very small tolerance 24 inches. the length between the joists where i intended to invest in the attic dek is roughly 1/8 nail less than 24 inches (my luck). as a bud the tabs were not flush to the frame and the installation was impossible. the panels did lie plodding between the next pair of joists, but that relinquished a gap between the attic opening and the attic dek. imagine how i filled the gap? this raises the another question: why use attic dek?

This substantiality is a godsend. i'm one of those tenant who's kinda sorta handy, but for some reason i stink when it comes to cartographical & cutting wood, and making it fit in places where it wouldn't normally go. our attic is upright beams & insulation, and until last ride hard didn't even have an entrance beyond a 3-foot by 4-foot compartment in the ceiling. but my matronhood and i were determined to use this distance for storage. we had a fold-down attic ladder/door installed, but once nothing else was done for almost a complete year after that. the daunting task now awaited us of refusal a ton of plywood, measuring it so that it would fit through the door- yet be broad enough to lay over the beams, share it all up, and lastly finding a worthy of way to secure it to the beams- all the heretofore trying to work in a diseased space that was hot as blazes in the vertebra or bone-chilling in the winter. that's where attic dek came in. i identify someone telling me they had seen or heard about some posy of attic flooring at a home/trade show, and i asserting to punch 'attic flooring' into google & see what turned up. attic dek was one of the in embryo results, and i knew almost immediately that i wanted it for my own project. the salespeople at attic dek were much nice, but they first suggested i gentility one pack of the panels (i needed the in addition expensive 24"), and see how i liked it. expletive to say, i called back a few weeks subsequent to place my order of 10 upwards of packs. it's just an ingenious invention- the way the panels interlock with each other makes installation very easy- you can per contra offset the panels if you have one place that's wider than another. they all clear-cut fit together perfectly... my attic is now a fully-functional conservation space, and i was finally discreet to put my car in the coach house after nearly 2 years of living in my house! the *only* hang fire you will come across has to do with the screws. you possess to be a bit gentle when driving into the beams, a fortiori sometimes the heads of the screws bequest pop off. i had this happen 2-3 times before i commonplace the problem. be forceful when drilling, but go slow.
