Vaulting replacement for vhs recorder this dvr is in addition powerful than the description implies. 1) in person video quality is better than the hope video monitor 2) records 4 inputs in quad-frame, quad-field, or mulitplex 3) race by timer, alarm, motion, or guide 4) programmable alarm settings 5) programmable offering sensitivity 6) four quality levels 7) can be easily connected to computer for remote viewing/control 8) 80gb hdd encircling and easily upgradable to 250gb the cons are: 1) no audio transcription 2) no cables or remotes are included. quadrate video looping cables are required at $30 each and 1 bnc-rca adaptor. the note downside to the looping cables is the headlight loss. after 1 day, the video pictures began to be dim and defocus. probably the extra remora was too much for the older cameras. i ended up using the discharge slave of the video monitor and connecting it into one of the dvr bnc inputs. the other three inputs are unconnected. 3) the rough drive is very quite. unfortunately, the refrigeration fan is not. personally, i would compound for the cooling fan with another. overall, this dvr is handsome dispite the extra $120 and frigorific fan. recordings are clearer and rewinding/replacing tapes is absent forever.
