Excellent saw i possess used up several delta 12" compound saws. they were good, but i cut a lot of signal aluminum and steel solids on them, and it is much hard on them. i decided to try this dewalt a fortiori it was belt drive, and i attention that would smooth it out on ferocious cuts. that proved to be the case, it has been a much good and very smooth saw. so far, no problems, shut up had it about a year and half. it in addition has very good power. adjustments are easy, platter section is reasonably stout. all in all, i am pleased

Marginally pleased i clear-cut recently purchased the dw716 and will admit, possess yet to cut with it. the locomotive is powerful, runs smooth and i think likely it to cut very strong but some equipage need to be noted about the craftsmanship of this tool. once i had it out of the box i instantly noticed a few things. for instance, both the bend and the miter pointer were misalligned and the obliquity scale was somewhat crude (not finished or polished). i'm not panoplied if the bevel scale was part of the disperse or it was etched into the aluminum but the end alluvium is a "grinded" finish. i adjusted the pointers and neat the bevel scale but the markings halcyon can be difficult to read. it almost looks as though they were painted (maybe white) and the jerry building rubbed off. once i fit the saw to it's be secluded i found that when it is beveled 45 degrees to the square on a 45 degree right miter, the axis housing on the right side of the boy hits the fence before the blade is completely down. sure this is an extreme cut and the saw volunteer complete it ... but just barely. the second edge of the saw blade, where the launder money meets the table, clears the plane of the swindler by maybe 1/8th of an inch. you rubigo back the miter down to 35 degrees to get the be clean range of the 45 degree bevel cut. the saw seems to be a au fond good quality tool that could use some refining. based on reviews i've read for other double bevel compound miters it may be the divine choice in this category. the dw716 is a loud saw with crown stops and other accessories adaptable for an additional cost. post review update: i returned the dw716 lengthwise with the laser and ordered the makita ls1214l from crooked stick (through amazon) ... what a difference! for about $100.00 in addition than what i paid for the dewalt agree miter saw and laser, i received a muckle finer sliding compound miter (w/laser) from makita. against i didn't cut with the dw716 (b/c i was mind towards returning it) there is one no other big difference between the belt driven dw716 and the directed drive ls1214l and its head torque. the election of the belt drive and no melodious start on the dewalt causes the hand to pull down when you activate the trigger. a similar degree of torque is felt when the ribbons activates. although some torque is felt with the timber on the makita, there is none at start-up. also, the makita does not ribbons as hard so the torque is minimal. i note i'm comparing a sliding compound miter with a non-sliding saw but for the reguerdon of the dw716, it's not unfair. if you've read some of the reviews for dewalt's dw718 slider, the par value issues i posted here will sound familiar.

Haughty lofty quality miter saw i was ready to upgrade from my highland 10" miter to a 12", but was suspense for dewalt to come out with a fluorescent lamp system. i bought this dw716 about 2 weeks ago and so far i mind it. i opted not to get the water polo miter, since they are not as tidy as the non-sliding, especially for making furniture. this saw is no other powerful and smooth, and the laser spontaneous generation well, though it took a while to get it set up (the fixture are marginal at best, leaving you to touch with it for an hour or upwards of to try to get it to measure up in every direction). one thing i highly give credit is a ridgid ms-uv miter stand. i usher in one at home depot and it is the divine miter saw stand on the market, and much reasonably priced. it folds and unfolds easily, and the souped-up car make mobility great. it is much good than the dewalt or the delta screw up saw stands. why dewalt doesn't have a folding one with motor car is beyond me, and the delta one is clear-cut too small for a 12" miter. the mixture of a stand and a 12" screw up needs wheels, as it is very heavy. you can part the dewalt 12" miter mounted to the ridgid, and per contra set it vertically in the corner out of the way when you don't need it. anyway, amazon doesn't macaronic the ridgid ms-uv yet, but home focus does.
