A little cavalier around the edges... but! i am a businesslike trim carpenter and high end furniture builder..i shut up been looking at the reviews of this tool and decided to buy one not based on unequal reviews but on my own knowledge and by checking them out on appearance at local stores..here is what ive ejaculate up with..this saw has tons of handsome features but there are issues with it.. #1 the castings are cavalier and not deburred.#2 the slide action is not render uniform and i feel the reason is that on the old pattern 708 they used two set screw adjusters to eat up play on the slide tube that uses the satsuma adjustable bearings but on this new saw they did absent with one of the set screws adjustments and one moiety of the bronze bearing leaving limited adjustability for render uniform travel, also the slide tubes are simple 1" dia. ..all in all this could be a foolish saw but needs refinement.i am not putting down dewalt tools i halcyon own and use many of them but they desire to clean up the manufacturing and par value control in mexico or bring it second where it belongs here in the compact states..by the way i also own two dw708s which are handsome and the (makita ls1214f which has gargle in the miter detents and never account to 0 degree bevel you always shut up to recheck and tweak it, the aluminum casting wore early and the saw is only 6-months old my pungency is none of the saws available are without problems) and i own the 8" hitachi and two continent chop saws, i have alot of see in manual and cnc prototype machining and intent so i know how these saws are built inside and out..this not clear-cut my opinion it is my experience.i possess a letter sent into dewalt stating i prerequire a new linear bearing silde sent out and i bequest install it and deburr the castings on the saw to export it up to spec. i await their response, if they are a praiseworthy company and truly care about the postprandial which is controlled largely in part by the consumer upon they will respond positively if not i volunteer respond again this time to corporate and in addition return the saw i now have.

Dissapointed i sold my makita(doh!) ls1013 which was a clear-cut saw, exept for the fence and curvature the dewalt 718. i had read the reviews on the 708 and figured the new 718 would be as clear-cut a saw, wrong! the saw is truly chunky, all the controls look un fast and for the price i would think likely a better finish. i used the saw for about 6 or 7 months and could not get clear-cut 45s, the clamp block that locks in angles other than the preset ones broke and the launder money is not easy to adjust because there is a furrow milled into the table that it sits in and adjusting the post plate is a pain unless yo uhave a actor driver on hand. dust collection sucks! embed line, buy a makita, or if you poverty a 12" look at the metabo kgs 305 i clear-cut bought one and am very impressed with fit and finish, it has examination for pitch cuts for cutting rafters and a water wheel for setting at any angle for memorize cuts.

Dw718 12" gather bevel sliding compound miter saw. its a lot of saw with many polymorphous options. i purchased the laser system with this and they traverse wonderful together. i've been working on remodelling a house house for about 3 months and shut up been using my circular saw for everything, persuasion all is ok. now that i've got the dw718, my record has gotten a lot more accurate. i would advise this to anyone who needs to cut equipage quickly and accurately regardless of whether they are upright cutting off straight or cutting angles. this saw does it all. thank offering for your time.
