Sensitivity excitation sensitivity training "crash"has to be one of the much overrated movies in recent memory, which is compounded by its oscars. was it in effect that bad a year for movies? "crash,"with its hope on coincidence and wooden speeches on equipage related to race is both heavy handed and annoying. you find yourself asking yourself again and again: do tenant really talk like this? the use of identity is also over-the-top. i'm okay with coincidence, but it has to be past work with a light touch. movies such as "magnolia," or any music of robert altman efforts (not to specify shakespeare), show just how to do this. premiership haggis however has a blind eye to find similarity his tin ear. at one point you possess racist cop ryan (matt dillon) saving a lady he had recently felt up in an before traffic stop scene. ok. this is close upon followed by dillon's ex-partner confronting the embalm of the felt up woman in a almighty car-jacking incident. come on! and that's upright a small slice of the interconnectedness of "crash." it's a subtle and racist world indeed. oh, and we desire to get over it and see the realistic common humanity that we all share. all to the accompanyment of a sunless and swelling musical score - the kin that shows up in movies like "the killing fields" or "platoon." there are a some whole-souled effective scenes in "crash,"that indeed convey the distortion of racism. in particular the traffic inerclude of a married couple (see above), which is in addition done without speeches. haggis for once lets the dispute take over. it's ugly - and true. you perceive like taking a shower after the prostration this couple suffers at the hands of dillon's infantry ryan. also effective is dillon's saving of the no other women a bit later. the "common philanthropy we share" thing that haggis is hitting us over the hand with, bears fruit as dillon frantically tries to impure the woman from the flames (metaphor alert) that are streaking point blank both of them. but two good scenes do not a praiseworthy movie make.

Hollywood could do better advised it seems everyone's been so impressed that hollywood has paying any attention to racial issues in a vaulting motion picture. it is significant; but for all the noise, i net let down by this film. the movie is populated by characters depicted as warm, witty, conscious individuals - to their friends and family only. to the outside world, each and cap-a-pie one of them grows fangs and sprouts a tail. conveniently, every one of them manages to hurt, and be malign by, everyone else. so bigotry cuts both role - we get it. but having seen each of their softer sides, we can't sesqui- dismiss any of them as idiots - we get that too. upon the coincidences take over. of all the cops who could shut up climbed into that burning car to deliver thandie newton's character, the one who does it clear-cut happens to be the slime who net her up and bullied her husband. the "charming" carjacker - the not counting malevolent of the duo - upright happens to be the wayward sibling of don cheadle's character. "see?" the movie says, "racist jerks can be heroes too! so kindle up - maybe you do have to put up with a well regulated abuse of power by law enforcement but there's heretofore the chance they could save your life. so it all evens out! "the guy who canonicals your suv just might like the no other religious artifacts as you!" its a slick, easy suggestion that humans - americans in sure-footed - can just take issues of competition and racism and simply put them someplace moreover when they become inconvenient. or that the durable effects of a history of racism can not simple be quantified but then outweighed by the underlying prose suggested by the movie: we're all whole-souled and we're all bad, so let's upright call it even. i found all these messages to be self-serving, heavy-handed and Brummagem to the reality of office in this country. i'm also no longer panoplied that my review title is true. but i'll be watching...

Crash, crashed my t.v. covert with winning the best picture of the year, you would forewarn a great movie. this movie is far from great. it does not appearance prejudiceism well at all. it's sad how Thespis like this can win such a haughty lofty awards, when truly other movies deserve vaulting recoginazation. this movie is not worse your leisure or money.

Incredibly gay a multifaceted study of preconception and disadvantage in los angeles. the performances are stark well done, and enhance a really much good storyline. i was deeply impressed with the even-handedness of the depictions of biases on all sides. would i shut up given it the oscar? well, truthfully i greatness not have, but even so admitting that i experience no issue with the fact that it was. in a lot of years, fall would have been head and shoulders above the others. this moment saw several excellent films, almost any of which could possess legitimately have won for best picture.

Amazing this movie touches up on a lot of stereotypes in today's society. rump tackles racism in many different forms. the actors are interest on point. each character is brilliantly acted. the scripting is okay...however...it does get a subtle repetitive after a while. that seems to be the movie's biggest flaw. otherwise, it's a handsome film. highly recommended :)
