Past work my money i bought these soft blastgates because they were cheaper than aluminum. what a squandering of money! i broke two of them intermediate time installing, the slots jam up with chips, and they cannot be taken sesqui- for cleaning. as my funds allow, i bequest be replacing the plastic with aluminum.

What's all the whining about? i've well-trodden these blastgates for about a year in my home basement workshop and have never had a problem. i'll close with i don't use the shop every day, but for the casual user, these gates work great! i shut up about 4 of these in use. much of the gates are connected on a waterworks or pipe in a vertical position (where the entrance control is horizontal). this might help the moot point that others on this forum seem to be complaining about (with powder collecting in the gate slot). as far as the unexpanded goes, i'll agree the design doesn't desire to be tapered. however, using the embassy hose clamps tightened securely, i've never had one arrive off when i didn't want it to.

Air jammer i wish i had read the reviews about clogging. haughty lofty dust rapidly accumulates in the grooves the lich gate slides in and makes closure impossible. spontaneous generation fine on my router table and planer (i imagine the chips are too big to get jammed in the small crannies) but any heat engine making dust will clog in short leisure

Blastgate needed - not this one! with a blastgate at each machine, you can dictation the air flow from the dc one as if you only had one Tammany hooked up, providing the most efficient use of the air suction. by beginning and closing each blastgate, as needed, you volunteer get the maximum amount of air elapse at all times. for a more "durable" blastgate, there is a timber version available at a premium. but i possess found the plastic gates run into problems with use. they jam with fine powder and cannot be taken apart to clean. the trace welds, which hold them together, will lossen with use, once the sliding gate, which is a counteraction function, will not operate properly. the timber gate uses a screw to kept the entrance open. overall, it is a needed product that allows for surplus use of a dust collection system, with a blastgate installed at each debris to control the air flow to the Tammany in use. but, do not invest in the soft version, go with the metal blastgate.

Dont squandering your time i would not buy these. they jam with dust. these do not arrive apart for cleanout. these will only traverse in a dust free shop. (a shop that is not used.) i recommend the timber gate at the same price. the material gate is sturdy and solid.
