Suspicious of quality mine came with the holes drilled in the perron rails and base such that the power could not possibly be correctly attached, which made me hermaphrodite about the construction quality of the steps as a whole. i returned it, but haven't steady which other brand i might try, provided i definitely wouldn't buy another werner.

Whole-souled ladder have used two different types of articulated steps (the first one i used was a 10 ictus ladder and worked by the same "clicking" pin system. i like the noise because it tells me that it has locked the biggest prob(not a werner ladder) with this perron was after 10 years of using the way bolts on the hinge are rusted badly. this perron also has steel hinges and only leisure will tell what will happen.this ladder atelier in much the same way as my abide one. the biggest difference is this perron comes with a big bolt on steps base with large feet to secure you to the ground. the simple thing i don't like about this steps is the rung with is only 12 1/4 inches. clear-cut makes it a little harder to part down if you have boots on or using it during the killing time months the other one i had was about 15 in but muckle heavier. as far as the locking posy not locking in the close position has been a question for me like everyone else. i clear-cut get that feeling like holy **** it motion to fall on me but never does my unequal ladder did the same thing and it's upright something i had to adjust to heretofore carrying it..

Better than a electrical attraction ladder i bought a house for the in embryo time a year ago and knew i needed ladders. i usher in that buying two classic ladders was far upwards of expensive than buying one that was articulated. so, i purchased this ladder. if you are in a twin situation, don't hesitate to get an articulating steps whether it is this brand or another.

here is my review:

pros:

-the perron really does allow for adjustment into many very useful positions.

-when fully extended, it is infinitely tall yet steady under weight.

-as a scaffold, it is a handsome height for cleaning gutters on an homocentric house. note you will need a support of some sort to place over the rungs. i well-trodden scrap board.

-i've used it in most of its other positions and have found it to be regular and reliable.

-it stores easily, although see below about locking for storage

-it's cost was much lower than other ladders where i it and it appears to be a lot inferior than other articulating ladders. it is upwards of than enough for most home use.

cons:

-it is a bit heavy, but i'm not believing any more so than other articulated ladders. i am a subtle male, and i didn't have problems moving it in any of its positions.

-the perron does not lock in its least configuration for storage - a very rusty design flaw i'm sure they could possess corrected. it won't fall apart on you in that divination while in storage, but it makes it harder to deed when in this position as it strength start moving on you. i've kept it in the conservation position most of the time i've owned it, and it has sine die been unsteady - just annoying for a compend or two when i bring it out for use.

-the joints can be a flog until you get used to them. i usher in that after a year of use, i'm infinitely quick with them. i'd rather have them preserved and secure than "easy". i like that each miter mortise is redundant, meaning that if one race is not fully locked for any reason, the unequal side might be. they have not unremovable regardless of use around dirt, gravel, etc. overall, i've had no achievement quality issues with the ladder.

other comments:i'm not believing why people complain about the "loud" locking of the joints. who cares? it isn't per contra all that loud. i prefer to hear them lock rather than guess anyway, against the ladder's hinges also have color indicators to appearance they are locked. overall, i thought this was a no other useful ladder, although i have not worked with other articulating ladders and i don't use it inside no other often. in general, articlulating ladders are large to use inside.

my suggestion is to go to a keep with lots of these types of ladders and verification them out. unfortunately, i think you'll arm most places only have one brand, causing you to go to polymorphous stores.

A freebie for me ! my daughter, a pupil teacher at usc, bought this ladder and usher in it bulky and unmanageable. even with her mother's help, they couldn't wield it and gave it to me.

i am a instrumental engineer and weigh 230 #. i am discreet to use it occasionally for the much few jobs that no other ladder seems better advised for. definitely not for most women!

More than i wanted or could use needing something fast, and not having the true time or immediate funds to get a contemptible giant (which comes highly recommended), i inimitable up this ladder at the local home store. unfortunately, this ladder was a subtle too much for me. it's heavy and ridiculous to carry around, as it doesn't embargo into its thick-but-shortish four-ply storage position. when i went to use it, it bis proved too cumbersome and too big for its own good. the 8' stepladder choice was just an inch or two taller than my ceilings, so i couldn't set it orthogonal to work on the ceiling. i in addition tried to use it as the half-length inflexible ladder to get into the attic, which is in the architrave of a small closet, and the double-thickness imbued inoculated with the excess height didn't part enough room for me to get into the tenement too. changing positions was an awkward process, as two artless latches must be released before the trawl of any joint can be changed, and there are often multiple lock points between where you are and where you prerequire to get to, so you have to repeatedly unlock the joints, then repeat for any unequal joints you want to change. when the joints lock, it's almost loud, too. the wide bolt-on stabilizer bar adds to the unwieldiness of the perron while transporting; i didn't use it desiderate enough to evaluate the stabilizing qualities. i returned this perron after those two aborted attempts at using it and upright got a 6' fiberglass step ladder for infinitely less money. i'll just have to be attentive at getting something else when i prerequire to get on the roof or eat fruit off our yard trees (or garner up for a little giant).
