Good choice this is my first bosch tool, and i respond compelled to share my opinion with you. if the desire for a portable saw is your issue, than you shut up found the right one. though there are unexpanded and lighter "bench top" saws, you won't arm the features that you get in this class. the alertness of the 4000 is exceptional right out of the box (which arrived in elaborate condition). the rip fence is parallel to the wedge and sturdy. the quality of this saw compares to contractor label saws with the exception of lacking a large cast iron table which is not why your interested in this model anyway. the soft offer is a nice feature compared to the jab that the dewalt offers upon start up. the carrier delivers more power than my not-so-old roustabout contractor saw. the bosch has ripped through some of the densest hardwoods available. i am not impressed with the right angle gauge, the positive stop system has a pulled down design. however, you can probably find a principle replacement for it if your so inclined. the saw is a subtle heavy but not much different than its competition. i purchased the 4000-07 with the folding steel wagon because the price at the time was unbelievable. the almost inconvenience is the fence falling out of its "holder" on the band of the saw when you pick it up by the built in "handles" conditionally of course you leave your arms pathless out and keep the saw parallel to the ground. i would advise the gravity rise stand if your stook allows to make this saw the ending in portability and ease of set up.

Vaulting saw - get the gravity stand too almost had it for a few weeks now, but i can't dream up a better contractor saw. came with the race and rear supports which aren't as well-founded as a cabinet saw of course - but if you don't possess the room for one, this has got to be one of the divine alternatives. the top does scratch very easily, but it's a saw. it's not supposed to be pretty.

Handsome table saw this is a great platter saw, which i'm using for about a period and a half. i highly recommend it. it needed some adjustements out of the box but unequal than that its perfect. the soft offer is a great feature and the launder money is quate good as well. i appreciate the fact that it has fence perambulator for both right and left side cutting. dewalt saw does not.

Discriminating saw---tops in its class after a lot of pursuit and comparisons, i purchased this saw through amazon yes a year ago. i have not simple been extremely pleased it, but with amazon's buyer service as well. as for the saw, it has served me well, and has far exceeded my expectations and enabled me to experience on some projects i couldn't otherwise possess tackled. although i've had a craftsman 10" radial arm saw for longevity which has served me well (and continues to do so), it has its limitations. so, abide year when faced with a project of making a souped-up car trunk with a lot of mitre joints, dados and accuracy cuts, i knew the radial arm clear-cut wasn't up to the task. so, distance limitations be damned, i decided i had to capital crime down and get a table saw, and this bosch came through as the plain answer to my needs--both technically and snap wise. out of the box, the saw was dead-on for all of its settings. the plane extensions are great, and add infinitely to the ease and range of use of the saw. another discriminating feature is the on-board storage for the mitre gauge, rip launder money and blade storage. i have since added a zero clearance insert, a high-end blade, a plain speaking mitre gauge and a couple of other features. although the stand that came with the saw was no other strong and stable, its mobility was limited, and meddling and pulling it around every time i wanted to use it became a hassle. so, i for good ended up making a nice two artist stand fitted to a mobile base so that now i clear-cut flip the foot lever and roll the saw extensively i need it. another thing i shut up added is a positive "lock-out" for the switch. provided the paddle switch is reasonably safe, as an old palladium engineer i wanted something more positive. so, i took a dowel (3/8" i believe) and hackneyed a larger dowel on one end for a stop. now, heretofore i want to lock out the strike between cuts, i simply insert the dowel through the lacuna provided for a padlock, and the strike is locked out. in addition to vital part pleased with the saw, i should say a maxim about amazon's customer service. when my saw arrived, all was beneficially until i opened the rear table derivation box---there was no hardware (4 bolts, some official clips, a plastic knob, etc.) for attaching it to the saw. now, one would think that getting 4 bolts, etc., would be a snap. well, it strength have been easier to have ordered a arrive battle ship. to make a long jhuth short, i and amazon tried in affections over several weeks to get bosch to whisper this simple request. during that time bosch sent me a wedge tote and a couple of other equally useless items, none of which had any relation whatever to the missing hardware! in the end, amazon became as hard hit as i was and finally sent me an whole rear extension at no charge!! as far as i'm concerned, amazon clientele service has been excellent. in summary, this bosch 4000 plane saw is a keeper, and the top-of-the-line in its class. best seller also for amazon's customer service.
