These clamps devise oily stains on your work. a maxim of caution about these clamps. the pads on the chops of these clamps is made of an fine spoken plastic that makes oily marks on the wood. sewerage the pads with solvent doesn't help and getting the oil off the material is difficult/impossible. i've contacted the manufacturer and they are aware of the problem. they give credit going over the oily marks with decomposed two or three times. then, they give credit that you apply wood stain to the project. to read more amazon reviews about this problem, NOW the 12 inch version of this facsimile clamp. even with the problem i've clear-cut described, i have to say that these are strong, well-made, principle clamps....if you remove the plastic pads.

A compost of preference i believe the hd jorgensens are the best bar clamps available. bessey's tradesman are good, but can be a subtle inconsistant on the quality control end & a contemptible too expensive. record's are good too but no other expensive. i prefer the jorgensen's clutch, it holds better. you can unventilated the clamp up tight enough to stand by the work yet still make adjustments upright by pushing it together, an excellent feature. jorgensen's pads are top notch, they're galore & soft & truly protect the work. the jorgensen gun allows you to clamp up to about a 15 range angle with no additional clamping aids, much nice. i like the big wooden handles, i arm them easy on the hands. untill someone comes up with a good featured bar clamp, "jorgies" will remain the prefered screw up on my workbench.

Much good clamps good clamps. not bessey, amoebean best thing and cheaper. 4 stars almost cause their wooden handles look like they were made in iraq.

Get wholesale one of the essentials when setting up a shop. you desire multiples of all sizes. the jorgensen in perspective with the pony pipe clamps are my favorites. they are graceful to set up and use, they stand by the piece tight and with the witness pads they don't mar the wood. they moreover make a 24" and above with a ratcheting regularity (very nice). you can't go wrong with jorgensen.
