Great screw up but pads *do* stain i bought a two of these from amazon about a moment ago. service was great and i've in use them many times. the 3" reach is clear-cut and the clamping force is excellent. almost small issue with these is you shut up to keep some scraps of wood around to use as pin pads, the plastic ones definitely stain never mind they touch. don't clamp them directly to your ply unless you are going to paint it and don't restringency if it gets stained.

Praiseworthy clamp, but pads stain parts i recently 15 clamps for a big project i was working on that required two 12x96x.75 plywood panels to be clamped and glued together. after removing the clamps i noticed that all over the clamp pad touched the wood was a big lake of oil. i called the manufactureer and they suggested that this was orthogonal and to try using mineral spirits to annihilate the stain. mineral spirits didn't work and i had to garbage $70 worth of ribbon sapelle plywood. before purchase this clamp, check with jorgensen to see if they shut up resolved the oily pad problem.
