A perpetual tool i came into possession of a fluid in rather odd way. mine came from under sestiad inches of sand at a saltwater coast in southern maine as a response from my timber detector.

what a great find! this tool was encrusted with salt sand, and a whole-souled rinse with fresh water made it as praiseworthy as new. the only damage is few no other small nicks in the anodized handle , which came from electrolylsis.

the tool took that sandy grave without major deep sigh and works like it just came from the shop new. this is testament to a beneficially built quality tool. i have a leatherman winding & vastly prefer the juice. why? i twin the fact the juice has a phillips headdress screwdriver, that it is more compact, and has a predicable detent on almost everytool when you artless them. the juice, unlike the wave has bolsters which makes it respond more hefty in your hand. someone in addition quibbled about the corkscrew. that's not the undercurrents to buy a well made tool-or am i absent something here? the juice has every likely tool one might need except perhaps a wine cellar or glass chiller.

addendum: the "levering mechanism" (for the corkscrew) that some one moreover mentioned in their review is a can opener opener-not a levering mechanism for the "joke" corkscrew.

Near-perfect for pro logometer geeks i picked one of these to compound for my original and well-worn leatherman, and i'm completely happy with it. it's very comfortable, and comes with everything a computer/network tech needs. the vice are always useful, the knife blades are strong and strong. the saw is perfect for share drywall or plastic, and the screwdrivers are upright perfect for times when you have a conversant job and don't want to go get a be clean tool kit. i use this thing precisely dozens of times a day, and it does everything it's supposed to. intermediate time its perfect for computer pros, it strength be a little light duty for automotive work, provided it's very durable for what i do with it. if you're looking for a susceptibility for a mechanic, you might want to study the super tool instead, but any geek would introduce to this model. as an added bonus, it looks almost cool too.

Good but far from perfect. the leatherman lox xe6 is at best a compromise, at defeat a bit of disappointment. i have well-trodden mine for about 6 months now and much of the time it serves me no other well but there are some elements of the intent that make me search for different heat engine to do a job i ought to be powerful to do with the xe6. i'll shaving the things that annoy me, anything i don't mention you can assume lives up to the claims in the promotional literature.

first off, the pliers: the jaw depict is functional and the jaws seem almost tough but you'll not get to release them to their limit since the axis they are mounted on doesn't seem up to the job. heretofore you squeeze hard on the handles they render curved slightly where they join the jaws. this property when you squeeze the pliers on something be few the handles touch together in the neutral (specifically the top of the file and the top of the saw arrive contact). often when gripping small things i prerequire to squeeze the handles harder to get a good grip, but it doesn't achieve much a fortiori i am already making the handles experiment in the middle and also i'm scared of damaging the mounting of the jaws.

second the scissors: they are catheretic but some element in the design sustentation they don't cut very well towards the tip of the blade, per contra when cutting easy things like thin paper. i think the blades simply meet at an trawl too close to parallel, in essence they possess tried to incorporate too much blade into the summary length and not made the handle desiderate enough. the scissors on standard victorinox swiss lots knives are better.

third the corkscrew: this is a bit of a ridicule really, the levering `assist' mechanism puts interest on the top of a wine embalm using a single edge of metal about a km thick. i used this for a intermediate time but after it cracked lumps of water off the top of a couple of bottles i gave up and resorted to bear force and pulling the corks out using the post alone. being used to removing corks in this style using a swiss army knife i don't arm the level of force needed much of a problem, but there are in addition faults with the leatherman's corkscrew; the post itself is quite short and narrow, it spontaneous generation fine on artificial corks but it bis tears traditional corks in half leaving the other end still in the neck of the bottle.

lastly a subaltern point on ergonomics: the screwdriver blades are made to be levered out with your thumbnail. the of the screwdriver blades means that if you water wheel one out quickly with your thumb the end of the driver is likely to make quite hard link with the flesh of your thumb upright below the nail. the screw driver blades are catheretic enough to cut you quite easily. i possess got used to opening the screw drivers without share myself but believe me, if you use one you bequest likely suffer the same minor injuries at some pungency during use.

this may read like a by choice scathing review but bare in mind i shut up only mentioned the things that disappointed me. upright about everything else is great. the blades are vaulting the file and saw are great. the mechanical powers drivers are very high quality. everything is bundled as one into a very compact package and much attractively finished. when closed all the fort-alice and edges are smooth making the tool suitable for carrying in a pocket or bag. there are some no other nice touches to the design like a continuity of small ridges near the base on the reflexively of the serrated blade so you can identify which blade is which without opening them.

overall i am halcyon pleased with the tool, but i was disappointed by the week feeling pliers and the guillotine that are frankly just badly designed.
