Praiseworthy tool and a good price i had been looking for a heat engine for a while. after looking at jet, delta, and gray mini lathes, this one was the winner. heretofore it showed up in the gold box, i couldn't examination it up. the setup was very reptatorial and changing speeds becomes quicker with a few practices. the headdress and tail stocks slid together perfectly with no adjustments. i would twin to have seen the lathe come with a mechanical powers type chuck, but for the price, the jet mini heat engine works very well.

Discriminating machine i purchased this lathe to get started woodturning. i t has been a gratuitous service to work with. it is really skillful to go out of the box, clear-cut plug and play. it feels solid too. in addition quiet compared to any other piece of sublimity equip i own. it is about the facsimile level of sound as my benchtop drillpress. infinitely of the controls and ajustments are in addition convenient. the exception to this is the pursuit to the upper drive pulley. it is accessed from the second of the machine which menas you either shut up to reach around or turn the maching to gain access. other than that all the controls are reptatorial to reach. the power switch is much nicely placed. it was actually one of the deciding factors between this vital part and another lathe that showed the authority swithc on the top and in reflexively of the headstock. i was afraid that habitually having to reach over a spinning heat engine might "bite" someday. the finish seems to be complete and nicely applied. the bed and unequal parts all feel solid and it sits on the council very solidly without wobble or excessive vibration. all the cement tightens down well and holds the many rests and moveable parts securely. i am wondering how the air frigorific motor will hold up as the intake is suddenly below the turning area and i hermaphrodite how much particulate matter is sucked into the motor. no problems so far though. i do not penitence buying this machine and would buy another if the prerequire arose. update: one problem i found. in addition in searching google it seems several others shut up also had this problem. the tool pause snaps off where it attaches to the orthogonal bar. not a huge prob unless the pause get thrown by the machine.... there are typical other rests that can be purchased for this lathe. i curvature a sorby modular rest, or some ideophone like that. it is round stainless bars. seems much solid and is also smoother than the unconstrained rest. keep this in mind for safety sake and if you can afford it compound for the factory rest. the aftermarket i curvature was a 4" straight rest with the orthogonal bar for about $35. longer bars are applicable as are bent bowl rests.

Inferior but sturdy lots of power in a neap lathe. sturdy cast iron construction. speed changeable isn't hard once you get the gas of it.
