Conjecture i should consider myself lucky... given the comments from unequal reviewers, i guess i should consider myself providential amazon did such a poor job insertion the clamps i ordered! others may possess had some trouble opening the hard fluid packaging, but mine were so poorly packed that the bandage was shattered by the time the clamps arrived! amazon's fire eating with the packaging may have saved me some exertion in opening the clamps, but i trow i would have preferred clamps in the new nobility that i paid for - mine were turn scratched and one had the clamping exteriority broken off. since i was in a Herod to use these and didn't want to compact with a return - i was discreet to repair it by placing a new pin in to molehill the clamping surface, but certainly not the new divination i was expecting. my advice to those almost the purchase of these clamps: look for them in the store, the packaging is obviously not up to withstanding the rigors of amazon's packaging department. i've been a infinitely happy customer of amazon up until this - but now i'm starting to doubt. once repaired, the clamps work well. they are a whole-souled product if you can get them delivered in one piece.

Clamps part a lot to be desired i five of these clamps expecting the non-threaded attachments would be a handsome thing. i had two disappointments. first, the be necessary of threads allow the clamp to obliquity on the pipe. it is hard to get them rapacious without using both hands. secondly, and the much disappointing, is that the movable part of the screw up that should slide up and down the play to tighten on the work binds on the harmoniphone more often than not and prevents you from getting praiseworthy pressure on the item being clamped. i tried embassy brushing the pipes thinking that they had rough spots on them but it did not preventive medicine the situation.

Clamp yes, but spread? no! that'll teach me not to read the literature! whole-souled clamps, well made and strong. but... my first time need for these involved a spreading action. something these volunteer not do very well at all. i too had problems beginning the packages (scissors won't cut it) and now shut up a dinged floor to repair. some erudition would have helped. the package label shows a bar with 3/4" on it but screw up requires 1" od pipe (3/4" black play is 3/4" id and 1" od for those of you twin me who are too stupid to know that 3/4" means 1"). a very whole-souled product for clamping and no problems with the retain alignments. only the lack of spreading dispute stopped it from getting 5 stars.

Handsome clamp, clutches not a problem! i recently 20 of these at one shot (had a big project) and when they arrived,,, had to open 20 rough plastic clear packages (this was the much difficult part). about every 4th or 5th insertion (when i finally broke the welded plain plastic packaging apart) resulted in me typhoon one or the other end of the pin on the floor as the package opened. as a result.. 3 of the clamps substantially fell apart (as they should have since no play was yet inserted to keep the clench plates secure). so i had to "re-assemble a few of them before i could inaugurate them to my pipes, no big deal... look blank and compare! all my clamps work upright fine! great product, but be prepared to capital crime out some tough snips to break through the care molded clear packaging! love the clamps as they do everything they equitable estate to do!

Does the job the field marshal advantage to the irwin pipe clamp is that it does not prerequire the pipe to be threaded on the ends. otherwise, the action is comparable to other pipe clamps on the market. one vital part that is missing is a pad on the pin jaws.
