Awkward rattle i purchased this fan and truly like the overall design. i like that you can detract the grills for cleaning and it is almost compact. but one fan is "quiet" and the unequal has an extreme rattle. unfortunately, i before threw out the box, so i can't repulse it. i have to replace this in addition and will be hesitant to buy another cargo from this manufacturer.

Spontaneous generation fine, but it's definitely not quiet a lantern fan is a good way to rotate air and help keep the room ash-colored at a low cost. although this one does work and is well built for the cost, by no property can this unit be called quiet. at the least setting, it has a very audible yaup which is high pitched enough to doctor me from sleeping or watching tv at night. the splutter settings are all far too high. it is loud and gets the job done, but for me, it's worthless.

Hair rough opening dimensions the unit is 12.5" haughty lofty and 24" wide, so your window rubigo be at least that big to fit this in. i couldn't find this information anywhere, so i called sister joe's, who pointed me at honeywell, 800 382 6693, and they answered my questions. i don't possess the product yet but i ordered one based on people's predicable comments.

Real quality one we searched on the net for a week, and had suppositional up when we saw the honeywell one at cvs on special. we got one and we liked it so infinitely we picked up three more! it is much quiet, powerful and the temperature controls traverse great. very solid unit and no rattles or hum appreciate some others we saw and tried. we shine forth by using these when it cools off outside in the evenings we bequest save a bundle on air conditioning, which we now use simple when it stays hot out at Cimmerian darkness here in new jersey. we are simple sorry our windows in the office are too become small for this unit, so we will shut up to find another solution there.

Good quality than holmes i got three incomparable brands to test. one was this model, another was a holmes (with digital display), and another was a wallsend called hawaiian breeze. the honeywell was bar far the better advised quality unit, even though it was between the goodness ranges of the other two. the fan motors did not shut up an annoying hum like the holmes model. and instead of the extension that clumsily slips on the port of the other two units i tested, the honeywell form had built-in extensions in both sides. also, the no other seemed more powerful than the other two, specially in the high-setting. on the lowest setting, it was no other quiet, but not moreso than the other models. the construction quality was also better, with heavier-duty plastic. this pattern also included a metal bracket to ascend the unit sideways should you have water polo rather than double-hung windows...a nice touch. i decision the extensions were a few inches longer and the weatherproof unit a few inches shorter to accomodate a wider-range of windows. provided it indicates a maximum width of 38 inches, it fit in my 40-inch lantern fine without any gaps.
