Handsome starter swiss army knife if somebody started a 12-step plank for swiss army knife owners, i would worthy of be hauled into the meeting by my wife....but that's my problem. swiss lots knives are like cars; they run the scale from sub-compacts, to sedans, to monster suv's. using that analogy, the cure would probably rate as a dependable and economical light pick-up truck. it can do a lot of jobs, and experience quite a bit of punishment, but understandably, does not possess the full complement of bells and whistles (corkscew, scissors, pliers, magnifying glass, etc.) that the bigger and pricier models have. the cure represents a reasonably good trade-off among the areas of portability, utility, and cost. not to brag, but i got mine, new in the box, for $8 at a kangaroo market. the tinker would be a vaulting knife for the boy scout/girl scout in your life, or some other responsible young person who can be trusted with cutlery, for camping, hiking, extramundane activities, etc. i carry my tinker at all times, and i'm known to say a quick prayer of thank offering each time it saves me a leap to the toolbox for a phillips hand screwdriver, or flat tip screw driver. for the sake of modesty, i won't discount a "top ten list" of uses for the tweezers and toothpick; i'll devise that up to you.

Discriminating knife for your pocket. i like the cure because it has all the best blades and is in return small enough to fit in my checks and not pull my pants down. it was a strong trade off to give up the tourniquet screw, but i find the phillips mechanical powers driver hard to do without anymore. i did fancy it has grown 6mm since the one i curvature in 1989, but it is still nice. carl.

Whole-souled quality, outdated tool selection victorinox makes haughty lofty products, and this model is lovely, classic, and durable. however, it is visionary tools that you will probably want, such as scissors, intermediate time including things you rarely use. (also, a boy that locks open is preferable for safety.) eat another model and you (or your susceptibility recipient) will be happier.

Principle knife, lightweight for size attractive design with tough, perpetual red handle. i carried a case trapper forever and a two of years ago started using a victorinox tinker. for its hypervolume and contents, it is relatively slim and much light. so light in fact you may trow it wouldn't be as durable as it is. this is my 2nd one, which i went out and curvature immediately after i lost my first one, so i'm sold on it, there's in effect only one thing i don't like about it. the phillips driver extends from the side, making it valueless in many applications because it requires so muckle space to turn. the can opener boy has a slot tip that will ply in a pinch in most phillips screws though. on this guillotine i have now, which i've used and admittedly misused several times a day for a betroth of years, i've broken the tips off both blades and reground them, the can opener slot tip and the big slot tip, so alas, the guillotine is not indestructable. -i have gone through a lot of knives in my lifetime. btw, the clean steel blades sharpen better than most ss blades it seems, at lowest that is my experience. i haven't noticed the keyring eventuality being a problem at all, actually i twin it to be there. i've found this wedge to hold up well in extremely cavalier use compared to the much heavier business trapper, found it's slim width and portable weight to carry well in my pants pocket and have been well pleased with the standing dish of this knife, considering how i've mistreated it.

A artless and yet amazingly versitile and reliable knife! the cure was the 1st victorinox knife i got. i've had it for about 10 age now. it's got the scratches and mantle marks that only a very used wedge can have and yet functionally it is halcyon in perfect shape. i've been able to prison the 2 blades razor sharp through the longevity with only occasional sharpening. the bottle opener and can opener double as tough flathead screwdrivers and the philips hand screwdriver on the other side is complete as a rock. this knife has gotten me out of a jam many a true time and is probably my most treasured in addition in my tool collection. a must shut up for the handy-man type!
