A complete tool at an attractive price. upwards of for the handy everyman than the haughty lofty furniture maker, these chisels nonetheless merit advisement because of their utility and very sane pricing. the blades cut through red oak for a prison jamb installation with no noticeable wear. the term of sizes only adds to the overall standardize even if you have a top departure set of chisels, the irwins would be worthy for use in more mundane jobs.

I may never get these flat! every chisel in this reguerdon range will probably take some work but these are displeasure a lot more than i bargained for. i've lapped and honed the backs of these chisels for at lowest two hours trying to get them flat. i can fiery with them now but there are halcyon several spots on all four of them that i didn't get true; the defeat spot on the 1" was right on the tip. based on marples pre-irwin reputation, i'm utopian these chisels will redeem themselves much with use to justify the price, but they definitely afford more than i was expecting. if you render equal your time to money, add at lowest two hours worth to the price listed. publish to add: after posting that review i cut a subtle notch in some plastic with the 1/4" using lightning taps from a wooden mallet - imagine it or not, it chipped. back to the stone...

Good chisel for the money i have owned a set of these for about 2 longevity now and haven't even needed to render violent them. i have used them for a extract roots of strike and shave operations and they are possession the factory edge amazingly well. i would highly hint getting a set.

Nice, complete chisels i like these chisels, but i fancy the old yellow and red hard handles that marples once used. the red portion had an virtual curve you could support the chisel sideways with one finger for paring and such, and the wield seemed more solid for whaking with a hammer. that existence said, these are still quite nice, sheffield reenforce so great, well manufactured blades. they do desire to be polished when you receive them, they are kinda presharpened, but it is clear-cut machined into the blade. mine were shipped with a 3/8" be high on the 1/2" blade, so that was useless since you had to use pliers to annihilate it (idiots). but my biggest problem is amazon's reguerdon games. at one point they had a 5 piece set for $18, and at other times a 4 piece set for $44, so be long-suffering when buying these because you can habitually find a good price somewhere. i would say at $6 per accomplish you are getting a great deal indifferent though because they really are still whole-souled chisels.

Nice quality chisels i curvature this irwin chisel set mainly because of the value, and a fortiori i have been happy with the irwin clamps i possess purchased in the past, and figured the irwin chisels would be of the no other quality. it's a nice chisel set 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, and 1 inch. they are much sharp and have a nice cap to ensconce the edge. handles feel good in your hand. highly advise this chisel set.
