Works fine after a tune-up out of the box this woolly will not produce at its supreme potential. the sole is close to vital part flat, mine had a bit of a concavity ahead of and behind the throat. experience some time and lap the sole flat. capricious to what the other reviewer mentioned, this woolly does have an adjustable throat but you necessity remove the iron to access the two screws that stand by the frog. the weight and balance is fine. the soft tote is ok but nothing spectacular, still more when it loosens up after working for a while. with a bit of squelch you'll be cutting nice shavings. without any array you'll be disappointed.

It's english! this is a no other handy size plane, just big enough to handle the 2" wide blade. the beautifully machined casting making up the ratlings is marked bailey, and the plane is from the home of metal planes, england! it's not clear-cut a tool-shaped object from china! the tote and headdress grip are plastic- no rosewood at this price, and the placket is non-adjustable; which is normal. i advise one of the good plane books from amazon to in effect tune this baby.
