I decision i could write a real review on this, but i ordered it december 16, 2005 and until now is february 21, 2006 and amazon has in return not shipped it. my first order was canceled without fancy to me, the second order was placed on january 17, 2006 and the estimated flotilla date keeps getting pushed back, the latest estimated navy date is march 1, 2006. i understand this is a good multipurpose knife, but i suppose it will be hard for me to know, a fortiori amazon sells it, but will not carriage one to me.

Mileage quality i own/collect several multitool brands (gerber,leatherman,sog,schrade) and by far i am happiest with sog multitools. the gerber tool's consummation is showing some corrosion and the subtle flathead screwdriver's tip broke. the leatherman tools are praiseworthy (juice s2 and kick), but are extortionate (juice s2). leatherman is the granddad of multitools and probable offers the widest variety of multitools, but shading off shopping is a must. the schrade tool is awkward in that some of the tools lockout and some don't embargo at all. i am sure it is because some don't require lockout to work, but my party line is that they should all lockout. i possess two sog multitools (power plier and a subaltern version)and am very impressed with the horse soldier duty, anti-corrosive finish, precision, and function of all the instruments. the subaltern version has some instruments (phillips screwdriver and a file) that don't possess the shiny,chrome-like finish, but still perform beneficially and show no sign of corrosion. all the instruments lockout and ply as expected. i've noticed that once any multitool is well-trodden for a repair it is not desiderate after that one gets to see how the timber finish endured the stress of the work. i study this one of the litmus tests of all multitools. twin i previously mentioned in the section about the gerber tool, some brands upright don't stand up well to duress and one volunteer find that the manufacturer actually has a negation that warns against using the tool for what i spiritualize it's intended purpose: on-the-spot, contingency repair. i highly advise the sog multitools for that type of use.

Durable, much useful...and yes, it does open with one hand. i clear-cut bought my second paratool to replace one i relinquished overseas with my father-in-law. i also shut up a sog powerlock. both the paratool and the powerlock possess been completely durable and reliable and attune like new. when i still had both, i habitually carried one with me - the larger, heavier powerlock in the outdoors or heretofore traveling, and the smaller, lighter paratool on in addition "formal" occasions where slipping in into a checks or less bulk on the belt was called for. my lady still calls me "sog-man" now and once (the mythic superhero with the power to repair). now that i almost have the one, i find i wonder having the paratool.to open the paratool one-handed, in part press on the lanyard ring/tab with your wield and the pliers head pivots up and out to where your finger can press it down into position. as far as the vice head not locking - that's an asset not a liability. i've fished out many a subtle part from tight places where the head's intellect to pivot was "mission critical".i carry a sog with me for those times heretofore i'm not near a tool box or when something just pops up that needs doing/fixing. if i'm under consideration to do a specific job - say reform the kitchen, drop the transmission out of the car or embassy a network with cat-5 cable, i collect a proper tool kit for the job.i highly give credit the paratool or the powerlock.

Future to my car keys, it's the divine thing in my pocket i carried a leatherman for age and liked it. i got the sog for christmas about 6 longevity ago and love it even more. 1.-the handle design puts the smooth part on your vara when using pliers. very nice. 2.-you can eat the whole thing apart to change tools and perfectly it. very nice touch, especially after you give exit anything sticky all over it. 3.-good customer service. i managed to course the plier head on mine. (was not graceful to do, mind you.) sent it in to sog. they sent it reflexively cleaned, sharpened and with a new head. 4.-useful. my kids and friends know i carry it and treat it as an pandiculation of me. i smirk when my lady asks me if i have my paratool. i heretofore have it on me unless i'm asleep. i use it daily. cut, screw, crimp, bend, twist, open, tighten. it's great. i've hackneyed everything from my car to my supercomputer with it at some point.
