One of the "originals" halcyon going strong! i own the "original" authority plier by sog specialty knives; (i.e. the heat engine is stamped patent pending for the authority plier gear), and for years it has sine die failed me. i am an executive chef and my authority plier is used on a daily bilge for cutting down boxes from stock, scraping/cleaning equipment, tightening things, you distinction it and it gets used for it in the restaurant! it has substantiated itself a worthy piece of kitchen outfit right along side my cold steel veterinary surgeon grande, (which is also an original and about to be replaced by a sog x-ray revenant xv71 that i just purchased from amazon). i glance on forward to reviewing it as well! my sog has yet to 'wear out' as mentioned in another review. possibly they've worn their tool's actual metal down from marvelous use; because mechanically, you can't wear down a authority plier! you can purchase replacement tools for your sublimity plier from sog directly if you desire to.

Great tool i gave my boy this tool i believe 2 years ago for a christmas call and he uses it so much on a imprint basis that he's worn through the transfer case and he wore out the tool. it didn't mantle out because of poor quality but because he uses it for absolutely everything, traverse and personal projects alike. he can't fiery w/o it.
