Adapter simple goes one way contrary to what other reviewers may say this will not tax you to connect a 1.5" shop vac hose to a nominal 2.5" placket found on apower tool. this is because the 2.5" end is the no other diameter as the outlet on the authority tool and so will not defile into the outlet!i wish that dry vac made such an adapter but i rigged up an adapter from cpvc plumbing intelligence and, what else, duct tape!

Atelier well! the idea is pretty artless - 2.5 inches down to 1.25 inches. you downright need this to useshop-vac 801-89-33 micro cleanness kit. this fits snugly on the end of the waterworks that came with my shop-vac and the micro cleanness kit parts fit snugly into the subtle end. no annoying falling apart. you can in addition use this to attach a 1.25 hair hose to the dust port on completely a few power tools.
