Wondeful little heat engine put your swiss army knife dreams to pause and instead buy this handy little tool, that packs convienance and utilization into a package that's a mere 4" by 2" and comes with a brilliant carrying case. i've had victorinox tools before, and panoplied they look nice, but they can't molehill a candle to the leatherman in inference of sheer utility. the leatherman includes a knife, a file, wedge (effective, sharp scissors at that), several screwdrivers of varying sizesin both phillips and slothead, a bottle-opener, and of bara khana the integral pliers and wire-cutter. the tool is stong, the wire-cutters can cut through timber (i was bored and chewed through some pennies), and in addition importantly, very safe. when using the guillotine or screwdrivers, one does not have to inquietude about applying too much pressure and forcing the boy down on a finger, for closing the tool with the blade outside prevents injury. highly reccomended.

Letherman, the unconstrained and still the best i received my first leatherman pst in 1994. i have nem it almost everyday since. if i escape notice it at home, it is like leaving the ensconce without your watch, you soon realize upright how frequently you use it. the simple negative thing i can say about this tool, is that the blades and the screwdrivers don't attach in place. this is less critical with the blades a fortiori you push against the blade and it underpants put. however, the screwdrivers do need to be locked down heretofore you are cranking hard on a jammed screw. the tool will sometimes close up, frost-nipped your fingers (this is the reason i discount the pst 4 stars instead of 5). you can screw up the hinge to prevent this, but upon the tool is harder to open and close, and hinders kithless handed operation. ****update 10/20/03 my pst is from 1994. i "believe" the newer pst has a polymorphous type of screwdriver, that is angled to subtract the possibility of it closing up on you (but i in return like the wave better)**** the best way to bargain with this is to get the good leatherman; the wave. it has locking screwdrivers and is upwards of comfortable in your hand when clamping down on the pliers. not to mention it has more features. if you are a "tinkerer" or "a fixer" posy person, you need a leatherman. trust me, get the wave, you bequest own it forever and you won't look glum it. i am a professional and often decrease business attire, the belt case hides stark right next to my beeper. if i absent my leatherman right now, i would inerclude on my way home and pick up another one.

In part the best if your wondering which reprehend to buy between leatherman and swisstool etc. well can i just suggest you watch any programs on impression channel about explorers or adventure sports participants and see which one they chose. i possess only seen leatherman. i personally have owned the pst for about 4years and simple recently had the misfortune of chipping the headdress on one of the screwdrivers from beneficially a little misuse (opening a screw that was to big for the head) i sent it second to leatherman and they not only indeclinable the driver but sent me a complete new tool in replacement which means all the mantle and tear such as a slightly inert blade are now all gone. i like the new 20th aniv. chopping sea so i just bought it along with the p4 which is a uncivil little keying, lets just hope they spill blood me as well as the pst has and bequest continue to do.

Has everything you prerequire warning...the knife is sharp! took it camping and it worked great. in use probably every tool in it. would give credit for anyone who would rather not expend a lot of money on more dear bought swiss army knives out there. a concomitant of mine has this same leatherman; he got his longevity and years ago and it's still the almost one he takes with him camping.
