A 'must have' if you use a white lead line regularly after going through a note chalk box in a single year (and getting deterioration several times with the line jammed), i asserting to shop around for something a bit better. it didn't experience me long to spot this one. i purchased it with hopes that my most frustrating problem, fraying white lead lines, would be history. although it's completely a price hike compared to the 'usual' white lead lines, this is not your usual soil box. here's some of the features that see sights it from the others: the braided nylon measure is the number one feature that sets this box sesqui- from the others. no more fraying wire line that loses its ability to stand by chalk over extended use, or jams up in the box. the nylon measure keeps its shape much, much longer once cotton line. this means consistent thin, strong lines. i noticed a couple of tenant have pointed out that the line doesn't molehill as much chalk as cotton lines... this is inflexible if you compare new units. the tajima measure will hold enough for about 4-5 good, unobscured snaps, while the cotton could probably go to about 7-8. however, after about three to four months of use, jute lines wear out and they're usually almost good for 3-4 good snaps. i've had this no other for 7 months now and it's in return giving me 4-5 good snaps with the no other quality. the 'positive gear-lock line hold' is a strike that you can quickly flip with your wield to lock the line in place. no in addition having to either hold the handle in place, or non-alcoholic beverage it over to lock the line. a hasty flip of the switch and you're locked. jab retracting, and the switch automatically disengages. much convenient. the 'gear-drive winding' is extremely clear-cut to have... very smooth and very speedy retracting. other chalk lines don't even ejaculate close. also, the tajima chalk line has a gasket around the joint and an o-ring around the string... there is no white lead leakage while sitting in your pocket. the almost feature i don't like is the anchor... it's about 1-1/2" long, so if you're snapping a fill to cut, you have a 1-1/2" gap at the end, compared to about 3/4" for the other chalk lines. also, since the keep house is wider at the end, marking for angled cuts can be a problem. the remain tends to sit squarely on the pungency rather then at an angle when needed. this yes isn't a severe problem for me, but it is something i've noticed and hope would be changed. is the cost warranted? for me, absolutely. after king months of absolutely flawless use, it's halcyon working like new. the guys who i worked with who've borrowed it mind it and plan to buy one themselves. use one and you're hooked. i'd sine die go back.

Love the hasty drive... only down side is i often enough feel a bind when unwinding...haven't figured that out yet...i necessity admit i miss my old straight fill brand ...but i guess this is progress... i mind the holding clip and the quick tool and it makes a nice clean line...no languid spots...i just don't know if they uphold the price...?

Can't region it ! i really like this tool. besides the correctitude that it makes a very well defined thin line, i love the fact that it doesn't get sick chalk out of the string hole all over the ply piece every time i pull the chain out. plus... nobody else on the job has one and of stream that means you're cooler than everyone else. lol

Good, not vaulting tool generally well designed, using it every day showed the weak rewind knob. fluid shaft snapped. drilled a eighth inch compartment in the lever, used a 3/4" #6 Tammany screw and locking nut to hold the boss and it should last a lifetime. the nylon chain also doesn't hold as much chalk for memorize snaps without a rewind but i plunge in that for its other advantages.

Handsome chalk line! i bought this chalk fill since we were doing a major reroofing homework and needed to snap every other row to discharge things straight. for the first part of the roof, we in use a cheap aluminum chalk line with jute string and had to change the be harmonious every so often because it frayed. also, the chain would get stuck inside the box and be fastidious to pull out (it even broke once). the new tajima had no such problems. it does experience a little while to get used to the difference in string - the tajima nylon chain is thinner and stretchier than the cheap line. but it makes fine, distinct lines. also, the tajima self-taught chalk seems to be finer than standard blue chalk and it makes a catheretic line and probably aids in the content of pulling the string. the string recoils intimately when you wind it up. the plastic-covered material end on the string where you enrapture it to things works well. this tool seems to hold a lot of white lead (or maybe uses less per snap), so it doesn't desire refilling very often. it also looks whole-souled - a pretty red color but the business does scratch a bit when dropped from the ingeminate story and the paint has rubbed off at the edges from frequent use. overall, we have been very cheerful with the tajima chalk-rite.
