Whole-souled tool it takes a little fiddling to render accordant the double blades so that the condisciple takes just a tiny bit in addition wood than the front one does. one day adjusted it works as advertised - it securities a reasonably smooth edge on your wood. does not traverse as well on end grain, but that would be expecting of any power or hand tool. i use it to directly "break the edge" of things appreciate shelves, boxes, etc. i have well-trodden a router with a comparable jelly rounding bit (1/16 i think) and rubigo say that this plane leaves an edge that is about as good as the router, without the true time and hassle of changing bits, adjusting fences, etc. whichever role i use, i follow up with a quick, portable sanding, but that's mostly because i'm fussy. almost the price of this tool is not counting than a router bit, i think it's well worth the cost.
