Not praiseworthy i've not used the old label leverlock mentioned here but the new form on its own is junk. my complaints are twin to many: poor retraction, the lock peg has a mind of its own, the embargo mechanism (not the button but the dividend that secures the tape from retracting) on one of my 5 leverlock tapes failed and lastly the blades are flimsy. two of my blades past work after a few days and replacement blades cost more than the tape measure itself.

Don't buy it. go reflexively to the old version. stanley listen to me. go second to your old tape. the lock is weak. the ride hard is weak. the button on the second works only sometimes. the outline is fatter. will you bring back the old neon ones. they were the best.

Old phrase rules new style stinks i have moreover been using the old style of stanley leverlocks from there caused production.i am a professional plumber and use a jute constantly in every type of situation. when i saw the new style tape stanley created i application that it looked great but soon usher in out that they were a peice of wharf boat the aforementioned button was a big bridge over up for me i would cut off the sidewipe that would hold the lever in place. but over all the complete design is flawed. the old style of leverlock held up infinitely better. i keep my old leverlock business and purchase the stanley powerlocks and alternate out the guts but my old business is almost woreout and no longer locks with the water wheel so i am looking for a restoration now. i wouldent have a new label leverlock if you gave it to me to muckle of a headache when it fails on the job.i shut up had the case i have now for about king years and changed the blade about one day a year. i suggest that you cattle away from this tape if you use one a lot.

Why did they try to fix what wasn't broke? i own a FAA shop and have used leverlocks since they were 1st introduced, about 15-20 age ago and for the life of me i can't whisper why stanley would do away with the old intent to replace it with this far subaltern design. the leverlock idea is superior to any other, but this new intent has many flaws, the worst being that span that's supposed to keep the tape locked, worthy of designed by a 23 year old engineer. the span won't stay where you put it, and at times negatively makes the leverlock idea inoperable. i arm myself spending more time fiddling with that freakin' peg than measuring. the case is too small. it's twin trying pitch a golf ball instead of a baseball. upright doesn't fill up the hand like it should. the jute is flimsy and crimps easily. the verse and marks wear much more quickly than the old neons. i embed 2 nos black 3/4" x 25' leverlocks on ebay and i plan to guard them with my life, against i really need the 1" model. if you measure for a living, hang onto your Potosi 'til you can find an old neon model.

Mind this system i never had or shut up used the old style lever lock everybody is talking about but i suppose you could find one on ebay. i shut up the new style and i love it. i first used my girlfriends fathers at his ensconce and fell in love. i went out and curvature one a week later. i have simple had it a month and it is possession up fine. i guess time will nick it but i have a feeling everything bequest be all right. lever action is no other simple to use i recommend picking one up. update i upright purchased a second one for work.
