No great shakes, tho' economical i have a bunch (passel? herd?) of saws, at lowest half of which spend most of their leisure snuggled up to the pegboard in the debark of the unloved toys. stanley's dovetail saw is one of them. why?

well, there's nothing much wrong with it. has a decent handle(though i don't fancy the wrist angle of turned grips), there's sane steel in the blade, and it's not shapeless (an unforgiveable sin in tools) or built in any large part out of plastic.

howevah, it also isn't limit for what it should excel at: dovetails. the hammer are on the coarse side, resulting in a cut to match, and the set is too prosaic for accurate joint cutting.

there are advantages to this stanley effort. for instance, it's cheap enough to rattle around in a fastidious toolbox without causing guilt feelings in the owner. also, i can paw it to my daughter for use in crosscutting divers sticks without fear of tool decimation. in fact, she owns it now.

when/if her skills become a bit, we'll get together to vaporize some of the extra set out of the teeth, resharpen it to a faretheewell, and it'll be a real dovetail saw at last.

Stanley tail saw stanley has once again made a handsome product and as always it is no other affordable. i have been using this saw for a contemptible bit of everything for a couple of weeks now. i shut up cut hardwoods as well as softwoods and the saw is in return as sharp as the day i got it. it is the elaborate size to fit in any toolbox and it in addition fits pretty will in my tool belt. anyway i trow this saw will be cutting for a desiderate time.

An excellent integration to your tool box how many times possess you gathered your tools to fix something heretofore your away from home? i am habitually going over my in-law's house to fix this or that for them. of course, they in person across the city and have no tools. the music of times i have had to devise and go out to pick up a tool...and it's habitually a royal pain. this dovetail saw is a elaborate tool to throw in your tool box. its dense size shouldn't fool you; it always cuts precisely, with a elaborate edge and can handle more than one greatness think. of course, the joints i've cut shut up been very tight and clean. i am so pleased i got this...i use it more than any of my unequal hand saws! get it and you won't penitence it.
