Great tape...get the 16 ft! my preside has this tape and i fell in mind with it, i also havethe stanley water wheel lock(see my other reviews) which is ok but these fat max's truly can reach farther and with the baccarat boot surrounding you can hold it better. well i picked up the 16ft fat max and ilike it better advised because of the smaller size. it turbulence in my handsbetter and in my toolbelt a lot better advised as well. my boss recently stole this wire (16 ft.) from me because he likes the subaltern size as well.

One and almost this is the only tape i can use. one day you use it you can not go second to a weak 1" tape. the standout is 10' to 11' which is about 2x what a 1" jute can do. the 25' has a unexpanded case than the 35' which is rough to fit in smaller hands.

Desiderate tape standout is the principal feature of this measure... 1 1/4" latifolous fat max tape measure. pros: - my fat max stands out unstrengthened to about 10' 3". even though not the 11' claimed, it's halcyon several feet longer than 1" tape measures. this is the goodly advantage of this tape, especially when at work alone, because measuring takes less time and inferior effort. - case has a rubber stalagmite around most of it, making it easier to molehill onto, although that black case can get hot if it's been in the sunshine. - jute end has the normal bottom "hook" but in addition has a double top hook, for grabbing that unequal end. - although i don't make a habit of dropping tools, this one seems infinitely tough. (although some reviewers have had their fat max's deficit open on falling?) - highly rated in forfeit homebuilding magazine. cons: - costs much in addition than 1" wide tape measures of the no other length. - about 1/4 bulkier and is heavier than a 1" broad tape measure of the same length. 3/4" jute measures are lighter still. the fat max greatness be awkwardly large for someone with subtle hands. - even with the belt step removed, the fat max is an inconveniently rapacious fit in my tape holster, whereas 1" broad tape measures of the same length St with ease. - due to the curvature of the tape it "rides" further above the dry goods than narrower tape measures, so you possess to press the tape down to get that stamp bit of accuracy in the reading. narrower wire measures are easier and quicker to dip into accurately, since you don't need to influence the tape down as often. - superficial extent of the tape measure isn't shown on tool, so you possess to remember the width and add that, for inside readings. - embed and top "hooks" should be longer or possess micro grippers like some other tape measures. against usually ok, it too easily slips off what i'm awkward to hook it on - this is in particular frustrating when that spot is far away, and is partly caused by how much you have to arc the jute for it to stand out so far. i.e., the wire may be at the wrong angle to clench easily. - the sliding blade lock takes too muckle effort. i can do it with one thumb, but shut up to press with serious oomph to attach or unlock it, and i'm 6/4 and trow 260 lbs. i'd say it takes three the effort over any of the 1" measures i own. doesn't traverse near as well as the stanley authority lock, leigh, or craftsman measures, for example. - jute seems to crease sooner than narrower tapes, which sustentation it will wear out faster. this is seemingly due to the width of the wire being less flexible to twisting, and the no other fast rewind rate which can whip the tape, causing damage. not truly a con, since it's not expected, but it doesn't shut up a lifetime warranty like craftsman tape measures (not believing if other brands have such warranties). i've seen achievement workers bring a bag full of worn-out workman tape measures into a sears keep and walk out with free replacements! summary: for any homework where long tape standout is important, this is a whole-souled choice. for almost any other purpose, i arrive for a 1" or smaller tape rhyme because they are lighter, smaller, quicker to read, and the wedge locks works better.

Jute , get the job done. this wire has great reach. after using it for months, tried to use subaltern old tape, that's when you realize how muckle you like the fat max. it accually is the importance a tape should be. we build tradition homes in cayman islands, so after about six months of use in pleasantry air, they start to give on the impudence from rust. i've had the coating cover right off steel blade. but, that does not close me from using them. they are well-trodden day in day out for that six period period, and that's a lot of use. for orthogonal use thay would last very long.....
