Johnson frame square pretty cool tool, and a lot handier than the understood rafter square, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't possess and use both. out of the box it needs some minuteness with a smooth file to tame the strong edges, but that is perhaps just this sure-footed speciman. recommended. jb

Bigger is better! i appreciate this large version even better than the subtle one i had used previously. it is good as a saw guide and for incidental layout work. there are a series of notches that contribute you to firmly seat a pencil as you vettura the square along a board, using it as a marking guage. this is handsome for laying out rip cuts - stook doesn't blow away like a chalk measure when your saw blade is spinning. there are baby scale on both sides of the square for frame angles. this tool works great on tumefying 2x lumber, without being as bulky as a 16" x 24" framing square.

A fine tool, for a inflexible carpenter i just ordered this size i possess had a 7 inch square in the obsolete and i think the notches are a much good for marking your wood to rip it.
