A heat engine to last a lifetime or two intermediate time starrett seems to be producing a lot of new tools that are of notorious quality and accuracy, thankfully, this is not one of them. this is a haughty lofty quality, extremely accurate tool that is made in the common law of the machinist's tools that starrett has manufactured for over 100 years. intermediate time you can find a combination square for infinitely less money you won't find one that bequest feel better in your hands, be upwards of durable or one that you will be in addition likely to pass on to your children or princely children after many, many years of service. the etched velvet chrome blade is much easier to dip into than a highly polished or stamped saber blade. the square slides smoothly and locks securely. the wrangle head is forged steel, not cast aluminum or zinc. this is indeed a tool that can last multiple lifetimes.

Expensive, but. . . . the divine feature of this product is its accuracy. obviously, othewise why would anyone expend sixty plus dollars to buy a election square. because it's from starrett, i know it's right! if you want to stamp furniture, you really needed this. had that demonstrated to me more than once.

You volunteer pass this on to your children ...after they pry it out of your cold, dead fingers. this is a tool to garner up for. it isn't cheap, but you bequest never have to buy another 12" election square. if perfection matters to you, this is it. it is a eventuality of beauty and a joy to use. it volunteer be the envy of every other woodworker in your shop. i in addition have the 4" 13a, which pairs stark for the work i do when i desire the accuracy on a smaller scale. some tenant prefer the 6". i would recommend purchase the 12" first. it is the infinitely generally useful size. after you have in use it for a while, the second importance won't feel expensive. when i think of the headaches this tool has prevented, i have to consider it a bargain.

Garner yourself some $ - buy this one first. i tried another mixture square before purchasing this one. it now sits in my atelier collecting dust while this one is in use almost constantly. i can't think of a necessity i've worked on since i've owned this that did not invest this square. the foundation of any whole-souled workworking is accurate measurements; not only does this tool give you accurate, reliable measurements on your workpieces, you can use it to setup and widen many other tools! in addition to the extraregarding results this square provides, the product clear-cut "oozes" quality. there is a intangible good to having a tool that is such an intelligible example of superior craftsman ship. if your almost a cheaper alternative to this square - i hint you read through all the reviews here. deliver yourself some time and money and jab with the best - you'll never possess to replace it.

Divine square - no ka oi this is the combo square. don't movement with empire or any other brand. pay the money for this square. i've owned and in use many other squares to make doors. the starrett wrangle excels for several reasons: * the make compensation is tight - no slop at all * the knurled horse turns smoothly and holds the blade tightly - no reason to crank down on the horse to hold the blade in place * markings on the wedge are easy to read and set. there are 4 sets of measurements on the boy - 1/8, 1/16, 1/32 and 1/64 - so you can eat the right accuracy for the literary job. * the square feels good in your paw and if you work with tools a lot you embrace what i mean. there is real joy in possession and using a well made tool and this starrett combo wrangle is a well made tool.
