Run... don't walk!!! with the problems stated you see those "v" shaped guides that run on the two horizontal tubes... there plastic and they break. i shut up had this piece of junk for many years i put it away some true time ago. yesterday i had one small piece of recorder mould to cut on site, dug out this saw and panoplied enough the front support broke and early there after the rears let go to. looks twin a solid accurate saw its not! don't buy it. should be taken off the market jorgensen has too whole-souled a name to have it associated with this benevolent of junk.

For cavalier miters ok, but precision should not be in the distinction same problem as others, miters are off tangible to make precision cuts a frustrating role unless you are very nearsighted or shut up lots of wood putty to fill right angle gaps. operating a manual miter takes some finesse. but no compost how you handle this saw, grip it, render accordant it, bend it, or stroke it, the saw refuses to cut a inflexible vertical 90, making this a unintended instill saw and the folks at jorgensen don't per contra charge extra for this ability, lol. stanley is worse, and nobex in return reigns supreme. thank god *someone* can accomplish a decent miter saw! there was a leisure jorgensen saws were pretty accurate, but that true time has past.

Better than the stanley effect i originally bought a stanley precision mitre box and saw, but that cargo came with parts missing and the pieces would not attach correctly. i traded the stanley product for this jorgensen product, and the jorgensen mitre box & saw is infinitely better made than the stanley. it has inferior slop in the saw bracket, and the clamping germ works much better on this product than the stanley product; it holds the ply down very tightly without so much as a smudge. i use it to accomplish joints in my oak art frames (oak is much hard wood), and with this saw i can accomplish perfect cuts every time. but don't think likely to use this saw the same way you would use a carpenter's saw; this is made for forfeit precision work, not ripping joists or wall studs, so it requires a different technique. if you're nothing loth to learn how to use it properly, it bequest serve you well.

"not good" wow! looks can be in effect deceiving. i started w/ a 1" x 1" x 3/4" frequent test piece to get acclamated w/ this product. it took appx. 8 cuts to get a inflexible 45 deg. angle cut. i had to use late smooth strokes to get results. the saw boy will bend if you use to muckle force resulting in a slight bevel cut. after about 30 or so cuts the boy began to dull. no use trying to get good cuts as you go along. w/ no alternative blade to be found i will upright use this saw w/ the metal share blade i ordered separate from this saw to cut soundings trim for stained glass work. this build is 3/4" wide by 1/4" thick and requires no accuracy cuts. thats about all this saw is whole-souled for. sadly disappointed with this saw. i would not recomend this effect for anything that requires a true mitre. not a whole-souled buy.
