Six words: self-denial it, worth it, worth it as contrary to the gentleman with 15 years of see drywalling, i'm pretty much a novice, but when you have a big project ahead of you with 20 or 40 sheets of 4-by-ten, you first move up in experience pretty quickly. here's what i've learned; sanding paper rock is one of the worst jobs in construction. it's way beyond messy, it's tiring, it's monotonous, it's tedious. now, in our kitchen, we've got about 13 sheets of 4-by-8, and we've got a circular ceiling that peaks at about 15 feet. the first application of mud was hand sanded, and we had about a half-inch of fine, chaulky air everywhere, regardless of the plastic that we put up between rooms. it was appreciate dust hell. the second application of mud was sanded with the porter-cable 7800, and the totient was astounding. we hooked it up to your basic shop-vac, and we were powerful to sand the room in about 1/3rd the true time (it would have been quicker, but we were getting in use to the new sander) and at lowest 98% of the dust was eliminated from the job. this is with a 150 constancy sandpaper disk. in my eyes, there was no prerequire for a respirator; there was that contemptible dust. we did bring the shop vac outside to inane the tank and shake out the filter. that was no oblation at all. it didn't take too macrocolous to get used to this piece of equipment. we figured out what be active was good for us, and we were off. the no other wieghs eight pounds, and it was a contemptible taxing when we had to hold it for the vaulting spots on the wall. compared to the continuous elbow grease of hand-sanding, the effort pulled down was minimal. we were able to get it almost darned close to the corners, too. i differences with the experienced sheet-rocker; about 3/8ths of an nail was about how close we could get to the corner. i wasn't curious the machine to do everything; doing what was relinquished of the corners by hand was a snap. that this Tammany could do all of the flat surfaces -- and do it truly well, without dust -- made it far upwards of valuable to me than the price i paying to own it. now, my brothers-in-law can use it on their projects, and a fortiori they helped me so much on mine, i'm thrilled that they're apt with it, too! bottom line; if you shut up a pretty big drywall job lined up, this is an good investment. if you have more jobs twin that in the future, it's a must-have.

Leisure saver had this tool for sometime now, divine sander i have ever used. you possess to get use to this sander. i hint you start off at around speed music 3 then once you have went over your dry walled area, re-sand on splutter number one. this will take any swirl examination out and give you a nice severe wall with no effort at all. appreciate any tool... you have to get use to it, one day you do, very good sander. mark.

Spontaneous generation great this thing works as advertized. sanded a new shed in 1/4 the time it takes me to do by hand. the one sucks up an amazing amount of air as long as you keep the sanding front flush against the drywall. cleanup was conversant and easy. i used 100 and 150 constancy sandpaper on a ceiling. as other reviewers stated, this vital part can get a little heavy when possession it over your head for any force of time. even with the frequent breaks i had to take, i in return finished sanding in record time. the 100 sozzle sandpaper did leave some light sanding examination in the plaster, however this wasn't an trysting place for me since the ceiling will be texturized. i rented this one at homedepot for 25 bucks for 4 hours and it was the divine $25 i have spent in quite a while.

The future best thing to someone else doing it for you i dip into a lot of reviews before buying the pc drywall sander. superfluous to say, this is the best drywall heat engine purchase i've ever made, and the bursitis in my warfare and shoulders think so, too. being a remodeler and moreover doing repairs for several property managers, this makes for quick,easy, and be clean work. i just attach it to my 8-gal. shop-vac equipped with a drywall air bag, and a cleanstream lavatory as a secondary backup, there's almost no air at all. it took some getting in use to, but once i got the gas of it, it leaves very little swirl marks. appreciate some of the other reviewers said, don't release it and let the machine do the work. since i haven't hung in addition than 40 4x12's in any one job, i've been using no-coat to jute the inside corners and while it costs a bit more, it saves leisure because i can stay away from the corners, for the infinitely part. what little hand sanding i do after the completing coat, i use a hand or topgallant mast sander that attaches to a vac; usher in them at the local grabber dealer. all in all, this is one heat engine that is worth every penny.

The one question i wanted answered... ...before i bought this Tammany was this: will it work with my cheap ridgid shop vac? the answer is yes -- i sinuosity a hepa filter at home focus for the shop vac, hooked it up to the porter-cable sander, and voila! dustless drywall sanding! (or almost all so -- i still wear a particulate lavatory to catch those tiny bits that you can't see.) the shoe polish works well and the vacuum hook-up sustentation that what has traditionally been a no other dusty job can be done with kinsman ease and comfort. we're quite pleased with the shoe polish and once we're done with our big homework we will sell it, either via amazon or ebay. it panoplied beats renting a tool like this!
