T.s. is square i followed t.s.'s advice and bought the competing product. it was a contemptible tricky to find, because it's actually called the cleanstream filter, by gore. it in effect does fit beautifully.

Good deal elsewhere the hepa filter works vaulting but is limited to only dry pick-up and using an dear special paper bag which does accomplish for easy clean up but does speculation versatility. i bought a cleanair gortex hepa network from lowes for $29.99 that fits the red-coded workman vacuums. this forms a perfect acknowledge and works for wet and dry pick-up. you almost need to either plug the lacuna in the bottom of the filter with a soft plug you can get at lowes or any car wisdom store or use a 3/8" x 2.5" aspect bolt, nylon washer, and wing nut to upwards of securely fasten the filter. better filter, good price, easier wet/dry vacuuming.

Expensive, but they're your sinuses and lungs... heretofore you buy a woodworking tool, the guide doesn't warn you, but if you do a bit of pursuit you'll discover that prolonged exposure to finer powder (smaller than 1 micron, or the importance of smoke particles) can lead to concavity and lung problems; some serious. most atelier vacuums come with filters that retain powder as small as 5 microns (a piece of copier codicil is about 100 microns thick). if you poverty to protect yourself, you need a hepa filter, which volunteer retain particles smaller than 1 micron. this lavatory is pretty expensive, but without it, why buy the vacuum? for woodworking and sanding, a atelier vacuum without a hepa filter is worthy of a waste of money. commercial dust collectors signal enough for larger power tools, that annihilate particles smaller than 2 microns, are not yet adaptable at home shop prices. so even with a hepa filter, if you're using a authority saw, planer, etc., you should also mantle a respirator with hepa filters and possess something to clean your shop's air before it goes into the floor of your house (and before you annihilate your respirator). the alternative is to cinerary urn out more than the cost of the authority tool for a suitable industrial grade air collector, or to build your own (there are despatch and parts on the internet).

Atelier well i was concerned that the hepa lavatory would reduce the vacuum. although it rubigo somewhat, i could not detect it. in addition the filter is protected by the trade filter that comes with the machine. much nice!
