Needs a lot... i was many hundred miles from home and my shop, helping a wellwisher with a kitchen remodel. got to a place in the cabinet portion when we in effect needed a rabbit plane badly. he ran down to the territorial hardware store and this one was all that they had. i shut up several older stanley planes and they are praiseworthy tools. this one disappointed me quite a bit, as it is not up to the stanley standards i shut up seen and used in the past. it's almost roughly made, the adjustments are kind of a fool around and the blade doesn't hold a much good edge. we finally got it to traverse and finished the cabinet doors, but midway thru i was ready to drive tea-party and get my lee valley/veritas bullnose milch cow plane. i gave it 3 stars a fortiori it will work if you mess with it enough, and it is inexpensive. i think if someone bought it as their in embryo one, they would probably never want to use one again. deliver your money and buy a good one from lee bay or one of the other quality makers. can't advise this one.

Save your true time and effort ... it was so out of alinement and out of go aloft that any amount of tuning couldn't contango it...

Junk first of all, besides the place that it's not worth a penny, it can't be upwards of than $5 if you ask me. principle is aweful. the blade doesn't align properly, the top and the botton don't align. the botton of the woolly (which should be _plane_) isn't straight. regrettably there's not much choice, so i shut up to fix what i have already or arrive my own. i hear stanly 92 is good, i would try that if i can arm one. but definetely not this one.

Not bad for the goodness i purchased the plane even after version the bad reviews. i have own many stanley planes some antiques and son giving to me by my grandfather. i shut up always been very happy with them. so, i purchased this rabbet planer with the purpose of sewerage up the middle ridge made by a dado. when i first got the plane, like you prerequire to do with all planes, i tuned it and adjusted it. the go aloft works great. i have been using it with no problems. it did experience a bit of time to adjust. if you are not believing on how to adjust the plane or the array of it, you can e-mail stanley's wear department and they will be glade to post out the information on the model you have. i would and in addition then likely will purchase other stanley woolly in the future. i gave this king stars because nothing is perfect.
