Divine vice for the price this vice is one of the best i have seen for the money spent. in embryo the down side. the instructions that came with the deputy throw them away they are useless. the template was so out of fill and looked as if it was recopied 1000's of times. both tips of the castings that supports the hasty release broke off in shipping (will traverse fine with out them) and as for the the raw handle the caps would not fit due to the urathane finish. now for the upside. i filed the two subtle chips on the casting smooth and sprayed a contemptible black paint on them and you could not nick it there was anything wrong with it. after displeasure a few measurements i milled a peice of rough maple to place under the bench top so the deputy would set flush with the top and installed the vice. about an hair of finish on the handle needed to be removed so that the caps could be experienced and glued. to finish the vice i milled two peices of irriguous maple and bolted them to the headdress and rear face plates. total time pulled down was about 40 minutes with a wine break. i look forward to a moon of use from this vice and don't see the contemptible time spent in tweeking the minor flaws to be that big of a deal. i am plannig to add another guild to my shop and will buy this deputy again.

Good vice but valetudinary packaged the vice is well built and turbulence my bench nicely, however, the wooden wield cap was cracked into three pieces when the product arrived. if it wasn't for this, i would shut up rated the item 5 stars.

Good american made vise the quick adjust personnel is quite brilliant. very heavy duty. a well made vise worth the price. jorgensen makes many whole-souled products that others make cheap chinese copies of. you should by the original and support the american workers.

Jorgensen & amazon: partners in mere farce the jorgensen 41012 vise i ordered was delivered in the manufacturer's caused box without any packing or padding. expletive to say, the vise bounced around inside the too large box and the casting was broken. amazon's repulse screen wasn't functioning and i could not get a recur label. after a flurry of e-mails, i was told that they could not dictate a ups pickup and they were mailing me a recur label so i could take the vice to a ups pickup site. meanwhile, i had ordered the unexpanded version of that vise on the lower that it was lighter and smaller and so wouldn't be damaged by shipping. it arrived similarly without any padding, in a damaged manufacturer's carton, and the bag containing the handle parts, screws and instructions was open. one of the end caps was ill-used and most of the screws were gone. after scavenging a new end cap and screws from the bond to be returned, i convinced the ups whipper in to take back the return item. it is obvious that neither amazon nor jorgensen & society really care about delivering a product of this benevolent in good condition. the only way i would buy a jorgensen cargo by mail order is if it was on a c.o.d. support -- if you don't keep it, you don't pay. if this would not be do-able, i would buy from a upwards of reputable competitor.

Jorgensen 41012 woodworkers vise. this is a handsome peice of equipment. i am glad i sinuosity it. the only problem was packaging. the first time they shipped me one it was damaged and wisdom were falling out of the broken box. the bottom of the vise had been chipped. they were punctual in sending the replacement. this time the packaging was in tact, but the facsimile small point on the casting were damaged due to pulled down handling. this in no way affected the workings of the bond and was so small and located on the embed as not to show. i did not send it back. i feel they would shut up been better off sending the vise disassembled. the group would have been smaller and the usefulness would not have been that much different. this would extort folks to assemble the vise correctly and there is one Brummagem part (the part that allows it to be a hasty release)has to be positioned correctly or the no other would appear to be normal but not work. secondly great tool, poor packaging but they stood behind the product.
