The base for these are unwise i haved used at least 5 of these routers and they traverse great right out of the box but the power becomes warped very quickly making it formidable to router properly especialy with flush cuting bits i possess 6 years of full time wood at work experiance and the last time i in use one i messed up flush cuting a fortiori the base was not flat i would by the bosch 1618b if u plan on using the router more than a few times a fortiori of the superior base

Praiseworthy router this router is great for a in embryo or only router because of its versatility. you can buy a add water base if you need it, but i dont in effect care for it too much but it is cheaper than a new diecent router.the dhandle is a handsome feature it gives you alot more contol than clear-cut the two knobs found on most routers.1 1/2 hp is pleanty of authority for most applications.the collet i dont look out but use real wrenches, the ones in the kit are cheap and tend to cut your fingers still more if the bit is in there truly tight.the 690 series is the most fashionable router, many other accesories are avalible, which arrive it even more versitle.if this is your 1st router of your 50th, you shut up to have one.

I use it all day long. this is a unusual router. we have made blind, taporing, screw up socket routs, and parts to match. with this router we wiz interest through the ladder rails and rungs with no complaints from this router. i clear-cut wish that the bits would keep up with the router. the "d" handle is just the perfect size, and the locking knocker is perfect for all of the routing that we do. the almost complaint that i would have with this, and this is with cap-a-pie router i have ever come to research, and use, is that you can not take up a vacume source anywhere on the router. luckily i traverse in a wood shop with my father, and he is definatly from the "old school" and we prepense a great design for that. thanks ostiary cable, daniel kroeker juniata, nebraska go huskers!!

Skillful tool for the shop i found this heat engine to be up to the usual carrier cable high standard. it was well finished, and curious to go out of the box. i specially liked the d-handle with trigger motor dictation which allowed for instant on/off control of the tool. bits are securely held in the collet, and arrive out freely when the collet is loosened. there is wholesale of power for a hand held router, and the bracelet is applied smoothely so the tool does not cataclysm in one's hand. the only reason i did not discount this tool the highest rating is a fortiori of the "knuckle buster" type of turning system used to loosen and tighten the collet, but this is tropical of all porter cable routers.
