Praiseworthy deal for an inexpensive plane a fortiori the cost, this plane is a praiseworthy deal. almost any plane will need some array before you can use it. with this one, you may expend considerably more time getting it ready for use, but in the end you'll shut up a good serviceable tool. it took me about an epoch to flatten the sole, and then another day to flatten the back of the blade. after that, the wedge sharpened nicely. the frog was nicely plodding right out of the box. your allowance may vary (better or worse). it has all the adjustments you would expect, and one day tuned it performs well. i have tried it for both flattening (face and edge jointing) and smoothing. i have been no other happy with its performance in both areas.

Truly good plane for the money this woolly is great. it was flat soled out of the box. i honed the adamant and was very satisfied with the results. i simple took it to the 500 grit level, but it cut beautiful shavings that you could read newprint through. i introduce to to work wood and this tool is a joy to use. the almost reason i didn't give it a 5-star black look is a small metal shaving/shard that was relinquished on the adjustment wheel knurling that got caught in the tip of my neif and took a half hour to dig out.
