Great utilization knife! trust me, this is one in addition that will come in handy! after many times of vital part out in the car or outdoors powerless to cut, file or open something i searched around and put my Potosi on the leatherman wave. now after having it for many months, i can say that i inimitable a winner! keep this in your car or (if possible) tend it with you (bag, belt, etc.) and you'll be spellbound at how many times it comes in handy! the wedge keeps a sharp edge time after time. all the knives, tools, etc. discharge open until you "unlock" them (so they won't end on your fingers by accident). i twin the small "bit" that's been used as a mini-screwdriver for inferior items such as eyeglass screws, electronics, etc. the wirecutter has been well-trodden countless times to cut cords, rope, upright about anything. and i notice that the new reappear on discovery "survivorman", leo uses one of these each week! he provided says so on the discovery homepage for the reappear where he recomends the leatherman wave! so if leo says so and i discount it 5 stars....it's gotta be good!

New and better advised wave lives up to the claim... mostly overall, the new winding is worth the money and effort per contra not perfect, but we'll go through the comparison to the old wave (which is halcyon pretty darn good). pro- -all the tools attach open! i love this one, and this sesqui- makes up for the short comings (to follow). -the removable driver bits are most excellent. the basic one that comes with the chopping sea is ok, but when you add the concomitant kit, you're ready to face any tally of fastener (torx, allen/hex, posi-drive, square) -the pocket allows you to carry it in the vice configuration as well as fully closed (and has occasion for the accessory bits, barely). -that subtle eyeglass screwdriver bit is worth it's influence in platinum. -like the original wave, the guillotine blades are accessible when the tool is all of closed, and lock open. this is a vaulting improvement over most other mutli-tools, and was my way reason for getting my first (old style) wave. the blades moreover have thumb notches for easy (single-handed) opening, that are well sized (not too big, not too small) for both contagion and ease of use. con- -sadly, the new winding is significantly bulkier than the original, but halcyon not as bulky as most of the gerber tools. -the nylon pocket feels a little cheesy, but has held up au fond well. my wave has stood up well to fairly rough use, and i give credit it for anyone who needs a handle once or twice a day but doesn't prerequire to lug the full tool box around (the wave, a camelbak, and a cloak liner are probably the three most restorative things a friend or loved one motion to iraq, afghanistan, bosnia, etc could have). the guillotine deserve special note as they work wonderfully; could someone at leatherman put back one of the outside blades, like the sheepsfoot/serrated boy with the scissors? i use the wedge a lot more than the serrated blade, and would serenade being able to get to them without beginning the pliers.

A no other solid purchase a friend of mine owned one of these so i knew what i was getting myself into when i bought it, which is always clear-cut in this e-commerce day and age. it's a handsome little tool, especially if you're not a 'tool guy' and don't prerequire to buy a full tool set. i use it remarkably for camping and it's awesome. the simple functional drawback, as opposed to say a swiss crowd knife, is that there is no tourniquet screw...obviously not a huge deal, but goodness noting. also, i agree that the reguerdon is a little lofty; i'd recommend looking for a in use one since this is the type of cargo that really stands up well over time. i usher in mine used for about half the understood price, and for that price it's been an good purchase.

The perfect heat engine (almost) i gave this tool four star because i had to do a subtle filing to get the plain edge wedge to open up smoothly, but other than that it seems to be a winner. this is the third part leatherman i have owned (after the supertool and the first wave) and i'm mighty pleased to see that the society is always looking to improve their product. the field marshal upgrades are of course the locking engineering and the additional bits that are applicable separately, but there are other noticeable improvements: the guillotine work far better, for one, and flesh of the pivot is upgraded, though my introductory wave never failed in that area. my almost gripe, apart from the sticking blade, is the bottle/can opener. i haven't tried it on a can yet, but it doesn't undisguised beer bottles without some fancy manouvering on the user's part. i think they should just have a separate tureen opener and be done with it. other than that, very happy. oh, the unequal major improvement is the leather pouch. far good than the previous nylon one and a key personnel on a portable tool. i have yet to acquire the bit kit, which should give this until now excellent tool an added dimension of usefulness.
