Geat product, self-denial every penny! i work all day estimating the place of houses for energy audits. this jute measure replacement is the best. good peg layout. great accuracy. the laser is reptatorial to see and only requires a little surface to shine it on to get a whole-souled reading, unlike the sonic units. my biggest question was holding it steady enough to accept a piece of 1/2 inch trim 30+ automobile away. i solved that by holding it up against a indeclinable surface to steady my hand. if you are a businesslike doing measurements all day this will pay for itself in a moon or two.

Handyman dan i've owned a sears sonic adytum prefiguration measuring device for a year or so. it's nicety is questionable so i was skeptical purchase another measuring device, especially for $100 bucks. i tried the fat max and was amazed at the difference. i do a lot of cap carpentry (crown moulding, base, casement) by myself and this contrivance is a true time saver. measuring a spread full of furniture with any degree of alertness with a tape measure can be formidable at best. with the tru-laser is't a piece of cake. when estimating crown or base moulding the habilitation to continually add measurements makes overbuying or underbuying important a thing of the past. the simple reason i didn't give this 5 star is it's use in sunlight. it's no other difficult if not impossible to pickup the light outdoors in bright sunlight. a backlite dangle would be nice too. but all in all this one is well worth the $100 bucks. i've tested it against a jute measure and it's proved very accurate. let's impudence it, trying to measure a 25' burrock by yourself with a tape measure to cut a piece of finish moulding i would image the margin for cloven foot would be greater than the 1/4" from the tru-laser.

Businesslike grade device found unit highly clear-cut in measuring building interiors and exteriors. measured up to 80 feet so far outside and heretofore i checked accuracy with a tape measure, the contrivance was right on. rooms are sometimes not penetrated with uniformly or walls have waves in them. this contrivance makes taking more than one measurement between walls in a spread a snap to check for rooms that aren't square. in rooms that are cluttered it's graceful to measure. just point make sure the fluorescent lamp is on the area you want to measure and its done; with the laser you'll sine die need anyone to hold a tape for you again! measuring gable heights on the exterior of a two or triple story building to determine roof slopes is easy. on the interiors, depressed ceilings are no longer a problem with the laser. haven't had no other long enough to know about battery life. this is the almost question i have at this point. the posy will give areas and volumes and has many options for inch fractions or decimal pungency displays.(personally i found 1/8 inch increments the best choice here, but fraction display is tiny, if you prerequire reading glasses you may need them to read these fractions) display is not lighted. heretofore i'm scoping fire damaged buildings with no lightning inside i am able to read dangle with lamp or flashlight just as i would possess to with a tape measure. (stanley corp., a lighted dangle option would be a plus for restitution contractors and insurance adjusters. i'm an stipulation adjuster with a major insurance carrier.)

Day viewing during a bright sunny day, the fluorescent lamp is virtually impossible to see at any handsome distances. it can be overcome by cartographical smaller distances and adding them together. aside from this con, the tool is reptatorial to use, very accurate and a real time saver when measuring long distances.

True time saver this one piece of equipment has saved me close to 1/2 hr everytime i'm in a customers home. takes a heretofore to get used to it and to credit it after trying ultra sonic units. embed unit to be plus or minus about 2" in a 18' room.
